About

I'm a Canadian living with my family in Denmark — as far as I can tell we're likely to end up back in Canada the long way. Before moving here, we lived in the UK for long enough to earn citizenship; it's funny how a 1-year plan can be extended....

My main technical interest is in programming languages — studying how the complex little (metaphorical) gears fit together is fascinating. Of course, this is supported by a triplet of computer science degrees (Ryerson in Toronto, then two from Newcastle in the UK). I'm also fascinated by concurrency; I think we still don't have good language constructs for dealing with it.

At the moment I'm a postdoc in the engineering department of Århus University. It still surprises me a bit to not be in the computer science department, but I get to work on the implementation of the CML language for the COMPASS project

Anyone who is really curious can have a gander at my CV
